Pool & garden renovation

Update the pool and garden you already have

You might like your pool just as it is and still want to change everything around it. We look at what you want to keep and what needs attention. The estimate can cover the pool repairs and the garden work together while showing what each involves.

Surfaces and finishes

Review worn surfaces and discuss suitable replacement finishes.

Lighting and features

Consider updated lighting or water features as part of the renovation.

Pool and surroundings

Coordinate any deck or garden changes with the pool work.

Keep what still works

Start with the condition of your pool and garden

Walk the pool edge and make two lists. Loose coping belongs with repairs. Steps that take up swimming room are a layout change. You might live with an awkward step for another season but you’ll want to know why an edge tile keeps coming loose.

After 24+ years of pool and garden work we still ask the same question about a recurring fault: what was done the last time? If water keeps dropping or tiles come loose again it helps to know the repair history before we price a new finish.

Working with the existing pool

What stays and what needs work

The proposal identifies the existing elements to retain and the work to change. It can combine a focused pool update with improvements across the garden.

  • Recurring damage

Mark loose or cracked areas and note which ones have already been repaired.

  • Coping you want to keep

Check how far the new lining can run under the existing edge before pricing replacement stone.

  • Usable fittings

Identify lights and pipe fittings that can stay and price any replacements individually.

  • Under the old terrace

Locate irrigation runs and lighting cables before lifting paving beside established beds.

One outdoor plan

Update the water and the space around it together

Lift the coping and you also disturb the line where the terrace meets the pool. If that paving is due to change it makes sense to choose the levels and materials together. If the paving is staying we need to know that before allowing for the edge work. A pool repair does not have to turn into a whole garden rebuild.

New paving can hide pipework for years. If you plan to add lighting in a later phase we can discuss the cable route while the terrace is open. Tell us which entrance has to stay usable during the work. That affects where we can bring materials in as much as the order you would like the garden finished in.

Before stripping back

Make the renovation scope clear

A close photo will show us a cracked tile but not what has happened underneath. Some repairs only become clear after the old finish comes off. We explain what we can price from the inspection and which items may need your decision once the work is open.

Before agreeing a start date check the requirements for your community. Emaar Community Management publishes home modification guidance for owners planning to redo a pool. Ask your own community manager which approvals apply to your address and the work you have in mind.

Renovation advice

What can stay
when you renovate?

Old drawings or a record of past repairs give us a better starting point for an inspection.

Can you quote from photographs?

Photographs are a useful starting point. A site assessment is normally needed to understand the condition and prepare a more useful renovation scope.

Can I update the lighting without changing the whole pool?

We can inspect the installation and discuss a focused upgrade. The work depends on the fittings and their condition along with the existing routes.

Do I have to replace the pool to improve the garden?

No. A sound pool can stay where it is while you change the paving or planting. We check how the new terrace will meet the existing pool edge. That detail helps set the scope without assuming the whole shell needs to come out.

Can the renovation be carried out in phases?

Phasing makes sense when the first stage leaves access for the next. We check pipes and cables under the deck before agreeing what can wait. That way later repairs needn’t mean lifting the paving you’ve just paid for.

Keep the pool or rethink the layout?

Photos from an earlier repair can explain why a patch or a row of coping needs another look.
