Pergolas & gazebos
Shade where you need it
Mark the seat you want in the shade and the hour you usually sit there. The sun moves past a roof that stays put. We look at the position of the posts and the kind of cover you want before deciding how large to make a pergola.
Seating and dining

Finishes and fixed or adjustable options discussed for your setting.
Connected outdoor living

A place to pause outdoors
Where should the roof end?
Stand at the garden door and look towards the spot you have in mind. A post in the wrong place can cut across a view you like or narrow the path past the pool. Mark its proposed position on the ground. That small check often helps you decide between shelter beside the house and a freestanding gazebo.
When do you usually sit outside? It’s a question we still ask after 24+ years of building pergolas in Dubai. A table in full shade at noon can be in direct sun by supper. Check the shade at your usual hour with the chairs pulled out.

The choices behind the structure
First decide what the roof needs to do. A slatted cover can give a table shade for part of the day. If you want to adjust that shade as the sun moves we can discuss an adjustable design.
Size and position
Allow room for furniture and circulation while keeping a clear connection to the house or garden.
Structure and finish
Discuss suitable materials and the support arrangement for the selected design.
Fixed or adjustable options
Review available roof arrangements and explain the operating requirements of the proposed system.
Lighting and surroundings
Coordinate agreed lighting and adjacent finishes before installation work begins.
Built into the landscape
Coordinate the structure with the space below it
A roof changes how the space feels after dark too. Before fixing a cable route think about where a light would fall on the table and where you can reach the switch on the way back indoors. The height of the roof and the angle of the light can matter just as much as its colour.
Ask what looking after the roof will involve once the furniture is in. Fixed slats and adjustable blades have different cleaning needs. Any moving parts need room for someone to reach them. We can also set out where the posts meet existing paving and which areas would need lifting. Both affect the quote even when two pergolas look much the same in a photograph.
Sizing the shelter
Plan around the furniture you will use
The table you already own is a useful starting point. Measure it with a chair pulled out on each side. A garden photo then helps us judge where the posts could stand without narrowing the way to the house.
The estimate depends on the structure and finish as well as its installation conditions. Adjustable equipment and optional lighting are identified in the proposal. Any relevant property requirements are reviewed before the work programme is confirmed.

Roof choices
Choosing
your shade
A fixed roof and an adjustable one cast different shadows through the day. Which hours matter at your table?
Can you include an adjustable pergola?
We can discuss adjustable options alongside fixed designs. The proposal confirms suitable equipment and availability.
Can you build a gazebo as a separate garden feature?
Yes. A gazebo can be a separate seating space with its size and position matched to the garden.
Will every pergola keep rain out?
No. An open slatted roof leaves gaps for rain. If you need a dry dining area ask us to check the proposed roof's weather rating and where the water will drain. We can confirm what that particular system is designed to do.
Can you add lighting to a pergola?
Yes. Think about which surface you want lit and where you would reach the switch. We can allow for the wiring while the posts and roof are being planned and agree the fittings before the structure goes up.
