Garden maintenance

What needs doing in your garden?

A garden that needs a tidy-up takes different work from one that needs regular mowing. On the first visit we look at the lawn and beds with you. We check how they are watered before we agree what to do at each visit.

Plants and borders

Pruning and trimming with routine care for planted areas.

Lawn care

Mowing and other lawn work discussed around its current condition.

Irrigation checks

Check where the water lands and flag dry spots or spray reaching the paving.

Care beyond the first season

Keep the garden useful as it grows

A hedge brushing your sleeve is one of the first signs a path has narrowed. After 24+ years of looking after Dubai gardens we check growth against a fixed point like the edge of the paving. That gives us a better guide to when it needs cutting back.

On a first garden visit we ask which jobs you enjoy doing yourself and which keep getting away from you. Show us the hedge that narrows the path or the patch that stays dry after the irrigation runs. These details help us agree a visit schedule and identify any repair that needs its own estimate.

Routine visit tasks

A practical plan for your garden

The tasks and frequency follow the property assessment. We identify regular care and any initial work needed to bring the garden to the agreed condition.

  • Planting care

Review pruning and routine attention appropriate to the planting already in your garden.

  • Lawn and borders

Agree care for the lawn and planted areas with attention to clear edges and usable paths.

  • Watering observations

Identify visible signs of uneven watering and report irrigation issues that need further assessment.

  • Additional work

Explain plant replacement and larger improvements separately from the agreed recurring visit.

Notice the small changes

Look at plant condition as well as appearance

If a border starts to fade in summer it is tempting to give the whole garden more water. Check the soil in the affected bed first. Is the sprinkler soaking the paving while the roots stay dry? As the weather changes the timer may need adjusting even when the equipment is working.

It helps to know when a plant first began to struggle. If you have a photo from before the leaves changed colour we can compare it with the bed as it looks today. When the problem calls for a replacement plant or a repair to the irrigation line we explain the work and price it separately for you to consider.

Arranging regular care

Agree access and expectations from the start

A gardener needs a clear way in even on the days you’re out. We’ll agree which gate to use and when the lawn is free of pets or outdoor furniture. Photos of the beds help us plan the first visit.

Your proposal lists the jobs for each visit and how often we will come. If an overgrown border needs a longer first visit we set that out separately. You can see the regular cost before deciding whether to include the initial tidy-up.

Garden upkeep answers

Garden
care questions

Have a question about a bed or your lawn? Describe what has changed.

Can you take over the care of an existing garden?

Yes. We assess the garden and discuss a suitable maintenance plan. Any initial work is agreed with you first.

Does maintenance include irrigation repairs?

A routine visit can include checks for visible watering problems. If a valve needs replacing or a line needs repair we explain what is involved and price it separately.

Can you look after only part of my garden?

Yes. You might want to mow the lawn yourself and leave the hedge clipping to us. Tell us which beds or jobs you want covered and we’ll list them on the visit plan.

Will dead plants be replaced automatically?

No. We look at why a plant struggled before suggesting another for the same spot. We'll check what your care plan covers and agree any extra cost with you before taking the plant out.

Hand over the jobs you never get to

Which jobs would you like to leave to us? You might need the lawn cut each visit but only want the hedge checked until it grows into the path.
